UPDATE TO PREVIOUS POST! This has been flying around the Internet the past few days, and we have now learned that this "extra" beam near the buck's eye actually grew from the eye socket and was not from another deer. Although this is truly bizarre, it is not unprecedented. Over the years, we have seen similar cases where bucks grow extra antler points and sometimes small beams from extraneous pedicels on their skulls. This would certainly rank as a genetic freak.
